- Peggy, your staff is terrific…..just outstanding. We have always been blessed with very good staff during our stays on the island, but Gwendolyn is truly in a class by herself. Along with Pinkie and Angela, they took marvelous care of us. We could always count on wonderful meals (mixture of Jamaican and western….just about anything we wanted), a clean house, clean clothes, and always a willingness to do whatever we needed.
- We went into market, the entire group of us, in Falmouth on Wednesday….and Gwendolyn and Pinkie accompanied us. All of us walked through the market, bought clothes, drank coconut milk, ate sugar cane…..had a terrific time. We also stopped in a fast food place (Patty something?) that was the kids favorite…..but not mine. Obviously the kids’ vote is more important.
- The Villa is laid out so well that we could always find a space for quiet time if we needed it. We were never stepping on each others space. The rooms and furnishings were wonderful.
- We also could find space in the villa for all of us to eat together at the same time….and also sit in the living area and play games and talk. This home was clearly made with our family in mind.
- By the way, the surprise for the three new televisions…..quite something! We had to restrict a bit what the kids watched…..due to kids being kids….so our problem, not yours. The local radio station worked very well on the in house system. The wireless worked great and I do believe that one of us used the printer for a few pages. Great stuff.
- The hot tub was also a wonderful surprise. Thank you. However, we could not get it to heat…but it would circulate the water and the lights would turn on. We turned the water temp setting to 40C but the water never seemed to heat. The water was always very clear. Neither Gwendolyn or Pinkie were able to help us get the heat to work….and by the way, the new unit installed at the Cottage next door, worked great! So, maybe we were not using correctly…..but maybe this needs to be looked into, with maybe a set of instructions left with the unit.
- The pool was wonderful…….always clean and the kids loved it.
- We did some other excursions into the island besides the Falmouth market (horse back riding, trip to SCUBA dive, side trip to Ocho Rios) and they all worked out great.
- The celebration on New Years……probably was quite a bit of fun. But with young children plus lots of exercise and sitting outside in the sun every day, none of us were up past 10:30 or 11 PM.
- Bottom line on Pineapple Villa: clearly our favorite place to stay….and as long as you’ll have us, we’ll come back!
